Transept has been involved at all levels of the design, implementation and ongoing administration of concessionary travel schemes. We offer a flexible approach, working in partnership with our clients and other third party suppliers to ensure a holistic approach.
Our experience also includes the negotiation of bus operator reimbursement, acting as agents for both local authorities and public transport operators, and the use of the DfT’s reimbursement calculator for the English National Concessionary Travel Scheme.
Transept staff have experience handling customer enquiries, and we have run smartcard pass production services both as a one-off and an ongoing service for local authorities and a public transport operator.
Ensuring that the benefits of concessionary travel schemes are received by those that are genuinely entitled to receive them can be difficult. .Reviews of eligibility criteria can prove extremely useful in this area, and we have experience of working with local authorities to review their policies, prior to the implementation of mobility assessments, and the review of their concessionaries.
For further information about the Concessionary Fares services we provide, please contact James Turner, either by phone or by selecting ‘Concessionary Fares’ on the Contact page.
Smart Ticketing
We ardently believe in the use of technology in the transport industry. Smart ticketing schemes can enable tremendous flexibility, allowing operators the opportunity to employ innovative solutions to meet the needs of their passengers, whilst simplifying travel for the end user.
Smart ticketing can provide a foundation for the development of multi-product and multi-operator ticketing schemes, and we at Transept have provided project management and technical advice on the design, specification and introduction of ITSO compatible smart card schemes.
